Healthy Skin 101

We all want our skin glowing and healthy looking, but the question is, are we taking the basic measures to make this a reality? Same way many of us want that lean, sexy and healthy looking body, but are we doing what it takes to achieve that goal? In this section, I will highlight a few tips to help your skin look beautiful and stay healthy. Did you know you have over 80% control as to how your skin will age?

Tip number one is to protect your skin from too much sun. Avoid over-exposing your unprotected skin from the sun. The sun is the number one culprit that ages our skin. Ensure you slather your skin with a broad spectrum sunscreen before going outside.

Tip number two, avoid smoking. Smoking causes constriction of blood vessels, impairs circulation and tissue oxygen delivery. Studies have shown that smoking among women will decrease estrogen production, leading to dryness, and wrinkles.

Tip number three, eating a healthy diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables, plenty of water, essential fatty acids, and avoiding fast & processed foods will nourish your skin.

Tip number four, regular exercise is vital to your skin health and leads to increased circulation which leads to the essential nutrient delivery to skin cells.

Tip number five, heavy consumption of alcohol is detrimental to your health, as it dehydrates your skin and causes blood vessels to dilate and could trigger a flare up of Rosacea.

Tip number six, it is important to find the right skin care routine to address your needs.

If unsure of what you need to be using, consult a skin care expert to help you decide.
